Proper Naruto roleplay [RPG rules updated]

All rules are subject to alteration, deletion and addition. Also, they are open to comments, suggestions, and questions.

[Note: This naruto rp forum is completely different. This rp forum however is basically based upon and related to Chatango. The rp will take place in Chatango Groups/ CHatango Sub-Domains. I've decided upon this because I've seen Hundreds of naruto rp forums and they are basically all the same.So to begin you must have a chatango account.]

Use paragraph form in this RPG. Classic form (*something*) is often hard to read and is annoying for other RPers.

• Incorrect:
  *Ino ran*
  *she bought ramen, then ran to the flower shop*
  
• Correct:
  Ino was running through Konoha. She stopped at Ichiraku for some ramen, then ran to her family's flower shop.
  
• Correct (advanced):
  Ino jogged
  down an alleyway on a cold morning in Konoha. The cool, brisk wind
  blowing through her face, pushed her long blonde hair backwards. The
  sun was just begining to rise. She was going to Ichiraku ramen in hopes
  of grabbing a bite to eat before she headed for work at the family
  shop. Ino quickly entered the restaurant, ordered, and ate her bowl of
  ramen. Afterwards, she swiftly started jogging again. Ino really didn't
  want to make her dad mad again by being late.
  
• Be descriptive when filling out your character template. It
  provides for a much greater RP and it can help improve your RPing
  skills.
  
• No one-liners. It ruins the quality of a good RP. You may use them when (although rare) a situation doesn't allow otherwise.
  
• Please put all posts that only contain OOC (Out Of Character)
  information in the RPG Chat threads. This includes, but is not limited
  to: summaries, requests for summaries, or posts telling people you are
  going to be leaving. We will either move your post or delete it.
  

Thread Creation

• When posting in a chatango sub-domain make sure to include what village you are in in brackets (for example: Training Field [Konoha] is acceptable).
  
• In the first post describe location, appearance, and posting requirements
  
• Posting requirements could say the place is public for anyone, or
  private and say someone needs to knock or get permission first to enter
  

Listing and using jutsu

• "Because I say so" is not a reason a technique works. You need to explain it clearly.
  
• All techniques must be plausible in the Naruto Universe.
  
• Most of the techniques must come directly from Naruto anime or manga.
  
• Attacks based on the logic in other manga or anime do not work unless they also meet the logic of the Narutoverse.
  
• You must have logic behind your techniques. For instance, for speed
  techniques, you need to prove why your character is faster than normal.
  And there are limits to how fast you can go.
  
• Just because the technique is logically based, of our world or the
  Narutoverse, does not necessarily mean it's fair. And we prefer fair.
  
• There is no limit to the amount of jutsu you have but don't go overboard and start god modding.
  
• If your character is able to use S-rank jutsu, you must list at
  least one of them, to show that your character is able to use them.
  
• Any type of forbidden jutsu that you want your character to know,
  must be run through the RPG Staff before any use can begin. This
  includes jutsu involving souls, spirits, or reviving the dead.
  
• Any Jikuukan (Space-time) ninjutsu must be run through the RPG Staff before any use can begin.
  
• Please add any custom jutsu to your character's bio so that the
  staff may approve it. If you come up with new ones later, please update.
  
• If you want to keep a jutsu secret, you still must run it through the RPG Staff.
  
• A character may only have one of the following: sage mode, cursed
  seal, Hachimon (Eight Gates), Mangekyou Sharingan, or something
  similar. Please talk to an RPG mod regarding these abilities before
  making your character have them.
  

You must play fair with your techniques which means:

• Take posts in turns. No double posting.
  
• Tell your opponent exactly what your doing. Be descriptive. (ie. if you use clones say how many and the type)
  
• Do not overrank jutsu in battle. This means making them act stronger than they really are.
  
• No god modding. I'm sure most people know what this is, but for
  those of you who don't, this is overpowering your character and making
  him/her super strong. So that means no invisible or immortal characters.
  
• No WMD's (weapons of mass destruction) ie. atomic bombs and nukes. This include jutsu that act as such.
  
• No Auto-hitting, or in other words automatically making your attack
  hit and leaving your opponent no way to dodge. This is unfair to the
  other RPers and is a major rule, so please don't break it. (This means
  you say, "I threw a kunai at ____" not "I threw a kunai at ____ and it
  hits them in the head")
  
• No dodging all attacks. This is a given, you should know not to do
  this. It's basically the reverse of auto hitting. Let some attacks hit
  you. If you don't, then it's not fair, and it's considered god modding.
  
• No metagaming. This means having your character know something they
  shouldn't know, that you the RPer knows. Like having your character
  immediately knowing their opponents weak point after looking it up in
  their character profile.
  
• Use logical pairings/combos. No puppet bug windmill Chidori blasts using wind sharpened blades, kapish?
  
• If we say a technique is unfair, it is. However, we may help you modify it or tell you how to express it if we're nice though.
  

Take damage as well as chakra use into account. You will eventually run out of chakra.

• So don't keep going on forever and ever as if you have unlimited chakra or blood.
  
• Lower level characters should feel a significant drain after using higher level techniques.
  
• So if you don't have enough chakra you can't use certain jutsu.
  

You also can't say a Genjutsu doesn't work on you.

• If your opponent had time to cast it and you fell under the requirements for it to work, it did. End of story.
  
• It does not matter if you use chakra or not, you are captured.
  
• But remember it's easy to escape if you are familiar with the Naruto series.
  
• And Sharingan works on everyone unless you have documented proof (in bio) that you have a device similar to Deidara's.
  

Be fair when attacking major locations

• Give a chance for multiple people to respond before posting again. This allows people to fairly defend against the attack.
  
• Allow time for locations to rebuild themselves after an attack before putting them through another one.
  
• If you wish to significantly (1/4 or more) damage a major location,
  you must contact the Pinkies and give us a heads up. Explain:
  
  
  
  • How you will go about attacking
    
  • How much damage intended

Elemental Chakra

• You are allowed to specialize in up to two
  elemental chakra, so choose wisely. But you must have a sufficient rank
  in order to do so.
  
  
  
  • Genin can only have one max.
    
  • Below that don't get any.

• You are not allowed to use elemental jutsu outside of the two you choose.
  
• You are not allowed to edit the chakra element(s) of your character if you have used jutsu of the element(s) in battle.
  
• Special elements require a special Kekkei Genkai as well as two
  particular chakra elements to use them. This includes Mokuton [Wood]
  (Water Earth) and Hyouton [Ice] (Water Wind)
  
  
  
  • Example: You
    have Suiton (Water) and Fuuton (Wind), but do not have Hyouton as your
    Kekkei Genkai. You can not manipulate ice or snow at all.
    
  • You can't combine elements with other people to make new elements
    if neither of you have a Kekkei Genkai that would allow you to convert
    it.
    
  • However, you can still combine attacks without making a new
    element. Like mixing Water and Wind to make a hurricane-like attack
    instead of an Ice one.
    
  • If you are a Suiton user and are surrounded by nothing but ice and snow, you need to melt it before you can use it.

Concerning character deaths.

• No killing off characters without the creator's permission. Anyone who does will be dealt with harshly.
  
• If you feel you have a legitimate reason for your dead character to
  be brought back to life, contact the RPG Staff immediately, before
  taking any sort of reviving steps. This prevents people from reviving
  characters left and right, and also through means that just wouldn't
  work.
  

Abilities cannot upgrade or alter rapidly.

• Your characters cannot master something they couldn't do before without training.
  
• No disappearing acts. This means not using your character for a
  while, then when you do, they are somehow notably stronger than before.
  That's not fair to those who actually take the time to train their
  characters.
  
• Ask the RPG Staff for more details.
  

You are allowed to claim heritage to two clans, yet can only claim the special techniques or Kekkei Genkai of one clan.

• Ex. you could be the child of Sasuke and Ino, but you cannot have both the mind transfer jutsu and the Sharingan.
  
• You are allowed one and only one Kekkei Genkai (Blood Line Limit/Trait) and it must match your character.
  
• It does not matter if a clan's technique is a Kekkei Genkai or not, you still only get one.
  

If someone has a technique that THEY invented, you cannot copy it without their direct permission.

• Sharingan
  or not, it doesn't matter. Remember this is only for invented
  techniques, not techniques that exist in Naruto already .
  
• If you want to use it you must "trade" or "wager" it on something like a battle or they can just flat out give it to you.
  
• If you believe someone has copied a technique of yours or someone else please contact a mod immediately.
  
  
  
  • Please be calm about it and do not get overly upset. You'll make us not want to help you.
    
  • Please point out what exactly is too similar to your jutsu. Make
    sure you read their description and anything else so there is no
    misunderstanding.
    
  • If possible, try to be helpful. People often don't make similar
    jutsu on purpose. Give them an alternative method that you would be OK
    with. Maybe even try to work with them to make something both of you
    can be happy with.

Puppet regulations

• Max number of puppets that can be controlled at once is 10.
  
• To control more than that, you must have an approved special ability or Kekkei Genkai.
  
• List any super-powerful puppets and any human puppets.
  
• Using puppets costs chakra. This is especially true for human puppets who can use jutsu.
  
• Don't go overboard with how many puppets you use. Making it so you
  have almost an unlimited supply isn't fair. Do not overwhelm your
  opponent to the point of god modding or being overpowered for your rank.
  

If you are going to use clones of any kind you must declare when you create them and how many.

• Furthermore you need to keep track of them as they are destroyed so use workable numbers.
  
• All clones die at the end of each battle so you cant say I had an extra clone from 5 days ago.
  
• Clones are not as strong and cannot all simultaneously produce high level attacks like one character could.
  

Summon regulations

• People will be allowed only one summon animal-type
  
• Summons may be of mythical or similar animals.
  
  
  
  • However, no abilities that are unfair may be allowed. It doesn't matter if that's a trademark power of that animal.
    
  • Mythical animal summons are on equal grounds with "normal" summons.
    A fire-breathing dragon is not automatically more powerful than a
    fire-breathing iguana just because it's a dragon.

• Summons must be controlled similar to clones with the added benefit of participating in dialogue.
  
• Use of summons must be approved before using them. If a character in the RPG is teaching you, at least give the mods a heads up.
  
• Keep in mind that the bigger/more powerful the summon, the more chakra needed.
  

No Bijuu. This means like the Kyuubi/Ninetails.
It requires approval of all the RPG staff to control the leader of
a village (Kage or Sonchou) or of a country (Daimyou).
You must put "Charizard" in any color when you post a new character
in the news thread so the RPG Staff know you read the current rules.
Chakra/plasma/food pills and other means of instant refills are
against the rules during battles. They are way too cheap and have
prolonged fights that need to end. People spam these too easily.
DON'T BE CHEAP.
When a RPG Staff member pulls an "OOC MOD:"

• This is when the staff is acting as a mod, so please pay attention to what is said.
  
• If a pause or freeze is put into place, do not disobey it. No
  further RPing is allowed in the specified sub. And send all
  questions concerning the issue via PM to the RPG staff, especially if
  you are not the person/people in question. These are rare, but
  necessary occurrences, so please bear with us if these happen.
  

Ask for help and you shall receive. Not much of a rule, but yeah... HELP=GOOD

2 Staff Approval Method
This specifies how many RPG mods need to approve your character and other major updates.

• All characters require at least 2 of the RPG Staff to approve before use, unless the head - admin approves it
  
• Should another staff see a problem in your character after being fully approved, do NOT give them a hard time about it.
  
• Should the staff who have commented/accepted your character feel
  an additional staff should look at it before approval, do NOT give them
  a hard time about it.
  

Rules will be added and modified as needed, so check regularly.

If you slip up once or twice, we will correct or warn you, depending
upon the rule broken, but if it continues then your character may be
deleted or temporarily suspended from the RP.
